LA RABIDA CHILDRENS HOSPITAL - It takes a big commitment to meet the challenges of living with a chronic illness or disability - for children, families, and their communities. That's why La Rabida's mission is to provide family-centered care, going beyond medical treatment to provide the resources needed to help children with chronic illness grow, thrive and achieve. Each day, we witness the success of our efforts through the smiling Faces of La Rabida's Children Even though this unique approach to care offers the best outcomes for children and families, health insurers, both public and private, do not provide reimbursement for many components of such care. The generous contributions of time and funds by individuals, corporations, and foundations are essential to La Rabida's continuing effort to provide these vital services regardless of a family's ability to pay |

WellSpring Center for Hope was started in 1988 by a husband and wife team of pastors on Chicago's southeast side who recognized a critical unmet need for crisis intervention and an emergency safe haven for women victimized by abusive and violent partners. The co-pastors of the South Chicago Covenant Church started a safe home network for domestic violence survivors, and garnered the support of other committed members of the Covenant Church to purchase first a two-flat, and later a six-flat building to provide transitional housing for battered women and their children. Through WellSpring House, WellSpring staff provided counseling, advocacy, information and referrals to battered women, as well as assistance with job placement, housing, and life-skills development to enable women to establish independent households until mid-1999 | For More Information |
